A total of 59,166 real estate were sold in May 2021, which is 16,2% higher than May 2020. Istanbul ranks first with 11,356 house sales with a share of 19.2%, while Ankara comes second with (9.6% share) and 5,653 total sales, Izmir came third with(5.6% share) and 3,298 total sales.

Mortgage-financed sales decreased %42,9 compared to May 2020 at 10,560. and %17,8 total sales share, (May 2020: %36,3 ). In mortgage sales, Istanbul ranked first with 2,210 house sales.

As a result of self-financing transfers 48,606 houses exchanged. Self-financing transfers increased by %49,8 compared to May 2020. Istanbul was again the first with 9,146 real estate sales, Ankara came second with 4,277 sales. Followed with Izmir 2,560 sales.

18,204 houses were sold for the first time ( new construction sales ). The number of homes sold for the first time increased %8,0 compared to May 2020. of all home sales new real estate sales share in Turkey %30,8 (May 2020: %33,1 ). Istanbul had the largest share in new construction sales, followed by Ankara and Izmir.

In the sale of second-hand real estate, a total of 40,962 second-hand houses were sold. Second-hand sales increased %20,2 compared to May 2020.
