1.Short-Term Residence Permit
A short-term residence permit is a residence permit valid from 6 months to 2 years, which can be comfortably renewed over the internet. To apply for the Turkish residence permit from the online immigration office visit this link or visit any PTT post office branch.
2. Long-Term Residence Permit
Permanent residence in Turkey for a period of 8 years, with no departure for more than 6 months each year.
3. Accompany Family Residence Permit
This category of residence permit is predominately reserved for foreign national spouses and/or relatives of Turkish citizens who wish to bring their family to Turkey.
4. Student Residence Permit
A student residence permit is granted to foreigners who attend an associate, undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate program. These can be private or state own universities and / or schools.
5. Humanitarian Residence Permit
Residence permit offered for one year to those suffering from displacement from civil war, violation of human rights, refugees, and a wide variety of individual humanitarian situations that are approved on a case-by-case basis.

I. Short-Term Residence Permit
1. Residency by Buying a Property
The Turkish Immigration Presidency issued a new amendment to the law on obtaining real estate residence in Turkey, where the price of the property must be 75 thousand US dollars, in big Turkish cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya, and not less than 50 thousand US dollars in the rest of the Turkish cities.

Requirements and Documents:
- Applicants must be over eighteen years.
- Passport copy notarized by a Turkish notary; passport will need to be translated by a sworn translator and then notarized at a Turkish notary.
- Four bio-metric photos, against a white background on your computer to upload during your online application, not older than six months.
- Valid health insurance, this condition is not required for foreigners who are under eighteen or over sixty-five years old.
- Police clearance certificate.
- Property title deed from land registry.
- Title deed validity certificate.
- A tax number from the tax department.
If these documents have been obtained from Turkish authorities, they must be e-signed/signed and stamped/sealed. If they are obtained from foreign countries, they must be translated by public certified translator and notarized as outlined above.

2. Business Residence Permit
A short-term residence permit to allow the applicants to explore business ventures, visit suppliers/buyers, conduct market research, participate in trade shows and conferences, and or incorporate a business, etc.
To receive a business residence permit you should apply first for a Touristic residence permit .
Requirements and Documents:
- Residence permit validity for up to one year.
- Applicants must be over eighteen years.
- Valid health insurance, this condition is not required for foreigners who are under eighteen or over sixty-five years old.
- Evidence of financial independence and the ability to support yourself and each dependent family member, spouse, and children under the age of eighteen years old.
- Original passport, and a notarized photocopy of the passport or travel document, notarized by a Turkish notary or Turkish consulate.
- Four bio-metric passport photos for each applicant, must contain a white background and meet bio-metric requirements, not older than six months.
- Police clearance certificate.
- A tax number from the tax department.
- Resident application form should be filled out and signed by the applicant. If you have appointed a lawyer to submit your documents, your lawyer must be issued with a (limited) power of attorney stamped by the notary's office. Applicants must be physically present at the notary office to arrange power of attorney, as your signature will be required, applicants must provide a passport, once the passport is translated into Turkish, the power of attorney can be processed and issued the same, or the next day.
If these documents have been obtained from Turkish authorities, they must be e-signed/signed and stamped/sealed. If they are obtained from foreign countries, they must be translated by a public certified translator and notarized.
How to Renew My Business Residence Permit?
Requirements and Documents:
- Passport copy notarized by a Turkish notary or Turkish consulate; passport will first need to be translated by a sworn translator and then notarized at a Turkish notary office.
- Four bio-metric passport photos for each applicant, must contain a white background and meet biometric requirements, not older than six months.
- A financial self-sufficiency declaration, that you declare in the application form, the immigration officer may request a local Turkish bank statement evidencing financial independence and ability to support the applicants and any dependent family members, spouse, and children under the age of eighteen years old.
- Police clearance certificate.
- Book an appointment in the immigration office to submit the papers.

- The work residence owner can apply for Turkish citizenship after 5 years, with the condition of his permanent residence in Turkey without interruption of more than 6 months outside Turkey.

Getting a Short-Term Residence Permit with a Rental Agreement
Requirements and Documents:
- Residence permit validity for up to one year.
- Applicants must be over eighteen years.
- Valid health insurance, this condition is not required for foreigners who are under eighteen or over sixty-five years old.
- Property ownership documents or rental contracts in Turkey, documents must be in Turkish and notarized by a Turkish notary.
- Local Turkish bank statement evidencing financial independence and ability to support the applicant and any dependent family members, spouse, and children under the age of eighteen years old.
- Resident application form should be filled out and signed by the applicant. If you have appointed a lawyer to submit your documents, your lawyer must be issued with a (limited) power of attorney stamped by the notary's office. Applicants must be physically present at the notary office to arrange power of attorney, as your signature will be required, Applicants must provide a passport, once the passport is translated into Turkish, the power of attorney can be processed and issued the same, or the next day.
- Original passport, photocopy, and original notarized passport or travel document, by Turkish notary. If the passport does not include a date of birth, the applicant needs an approved birth certificate. Notarized Turkish translation is required for this document.
- Four biometric passport photos for each applicant, must contain a white background and meet biometric requirements, not older than six months.
- When applying for a spouse or dependent child, under eighteen years submit sworn Turkish translations of the child's birth certificate and spouse's marriage certificate, the birth certificate, and marriage certificate may need to be notarized if your country has an agreement or stamp from your country's Turkish consulate, this can take some time and usually requires an appointment. You have to either go personally or send a person who holds a power of attorney and thereby can make the appointment on your behalf to complete the procedure. The original power of attorney has to be presented at the time of the appointment at the Turkish consulate and or foreign ministry to be able to act upon your behalf.
- Police clearance certificate.

When to Renew My Touristic Residence Permit?
Renewal of Turkish tourist residence permit must be applied for within sixty days before the expiration date of your current residence permit. This can be done online at this link, or by visiting any PTT post office branch.
You have a choice of four languages to complete your application:
- English
- Turkish
- Arabic
- Russian
If you try to renew earlier than sixty days before your current residence permit expiration date, your application will not be accepted.
The period of obtaining the tourist residence permit is often a month and can sometimes take up to 90 days. In the event that the residence permit is sent to the address of the residence registered and can not be delivered it will be transferred to the post office "PTT". You will receive a notification on your mobile.

II. Long-Term Residence Permit
- Permanent residence in Turkey for a period of 8 years, with no departure for more than 6 months each year. And obtaining a short-term residence during these 8 years. Financially self-sufficient and has not received any financial support from the Turkish Government in the last three years.
- The policy holder of valid private health insurance.
- No criminal record, or any record or incident posing a threat to the public or a compromise to public security.
Requirements and Documents:
- Original and photocopy of passport, passport copy notarized by a Turkish notary, passport will need to be translated by a sworn translator and then notarized at a Turkish notary.
- Current residence permit and Turkish ID.
- Two photographs, must be bio-metric and not older than six months.
- A document confirming no financial aid received from the Turkish government or organizations in the past three years.
- Evidence of financial independence, financial independence is defined by Turkish immigration as proof of funds equivalent to the Turkish minimum wage index.
- Valid medical insurance.
- Police clearance certificate.

III. Accompany Family Residence Permit
Requirements and Documents:
- Residence permit validity for up to three years.

Before you start your online application to renew your residence permit, make sure to have your bio-metric photo with a white background stored and ready on your computer to upload during your online application. Note that your bio-metric photo should not be older than six months.
- Evidence of Turkish private health insurance for applicants between the age of eighteen and sixty-five years old.

IV. Student Residence Permit
Requirements and Documents:
- Completed and signed resident application form.
- Letter of acceptance from Turkish education institute mentioning the type of the course, duration of the course, starting and finishing date, location of the course, and the capacity in which the applicant will be studying at the course: post-graduate studies, research, internship, etc.
- ِIf the applicant is under eighteen years of age, letter of consent from parents to attend a course in Turkey.
- ِPassport copy notarized by a Turkish notary, passport will need to be translated by a sworn translator at the Turkish notary office.
- ِEvidence of Turkish private health insurance for applicants between the age of eighteen and sixty-five years old.
- ِFour bio-metric passport photos for each applicant, must contain a white background and meet bio-metric requirements, not older than six months.

V. Humanitarian Residence Permit
Requirements and Documents:
- Regardless of how the applicants entered the country, legally or illegally must apply directly to the provincial directorate of migration management as soon as possible.

- Valid for one year and renewable, renewal is on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the directorate.
