A total of 109,548 real estate was sold in July 2023, which is 16.7% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul ranks first with 15,724 house sales with a share of 14.4%, Ankara comes second with (8.8% share) and 9,688 total sales, and İzmir came third with (a 4.7% share) and 5,203 total sales. The provinces with the lowest number of sales were Ardahan with 27, Hakkâri with 40 and Tunceli with 91 house sales.

House sales decreased by 17.7% in January-July 2023

In the January-July period, house sales decreased by 17.7% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 675 thousand 327.

Mortgage-financed sales decreased by 24.1% compared to July 2022 at 14,533 and 13.3% total sales share, (July 2022: 20.4%). In the January-July period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 28.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 136 thousand 63.

As a result of other real estate sales 95,015 real estate was sold. Other real estate sales increased by 27.1% compared to July 2022. Other house sales had a 86.7% share of all house sales.

31,641 real estate was sold for the first time (new construction sales). The number of real estates sold for the first time increased by 10.3% compared to July 2022. Of all real estate sales, the new real estate sales share in Turkey was 28.9% (July 2022: 30.6%).

In the sale of second-hand real estate, a total of 77,907 second-hand houses were sold. Second-hand sales increased by 19.5% compared to July 2022.

Real estate sales to foreigners in Turkey over the same month of the previous year decreased by 28.9%, real estate sales to foreigners had 2.6% share of all real estate sales in July. Antalya ranked first with 996 sales to foreigners. The followers of Antalya were İstanbul with 832 house sales and Mersin with 263 house sales to foreigners.
