In Türkiye, 1,478,025 houses were sold in 2024. House sales increased by 20.6% compared to the previous year. The provinces with the highest number of house sales were İstanbul with 239,213, Ankara with 134,046, and İzmir with 80,398, while the provinces with the lowest numbers were Ardahan with 755, Hakkari with 958, and Bayburt with 999.

Mortgaged house sales reached 23,277 in December 2024, a 285.3% increase compared to December 2023. For the full year 2024, mortgaged house sales decreased by 10.8% to 158,486. Their share was 10.9% in December and 10.7% for the year. Additionally, 5,980 of the December mortgaged sales and 38,062 of the annual mortgaged sales were first sales.
Other house sales increased by 42.9% in December 2024 to 189,360 and by 25.9% for the full year 2024 to 1,319,539.
First-time house sales were 76,629 in December 2024, up by 49.5% compared to December 2023, and reached 484,461 for the full year, an increase of 27.6%. Their share was 36.0% in December and 32.8% for 2024.
Second-hand house sales reached 136,008 in December 2024, a 55.7% increase compared to December 2023, and reached 993,564 for the full year, up by 17.4%.
In 2024, 23,781 houses were sold to foreigners, marking a 32.1% decrease compared to the previous year, with a share of 1.6% of all house sales. The top provinces for these sales were İstanbul (8,416), Antalya (8,223), and Mersin (2,112).
In December 2024, 2,418 houses were sold to foreigners, an increase of 17.2% compared to December 2023, accounting for 1.1% of December's house sales.
