Development of the Real Estate Sector in Turkey in September 2025 – Housing Sales Statistics
In Türkiye, a total of 150,657 houses were sold in September 2025 — an increase of 6.9% compared to September 2024. The provinces with the highest number of house sales were İstanbul with 24,119, Ankara with 13,417, and İzmir with 8,544, while the lowest numbers were recorded in Ardahan (70), Bayburt (117), and Tunceli (142).

Mortgaged House Sales
Mortgaged house sales reached 21,266 in September, up 34.4% year-on-year, accounting for 14.1% of all sales. In the January–September period, mortgaged sales rose by 76.0% to 162,493.
Of these, 4,978 mortgaged sales in September and 38,571 in January–September were first sales.
Other House Sales
Other house sales totaled 129,391 in September, up 3.4% year-on-year, representing 85.9% of all transactions. During January–September, other sales increased by 13.0% to 966,234.
House Sales by Type
First sales amounted to 47,117 in September (+5.0% y/y), accounting for 31.3% of total sales. In January–September, first sales rose 13.9% to 342,641.
Second-hand sales reached 103,540 in September (+7.8% y/y), making up 68.7% of total sales. In January–September, second-hand sales increased 21.6% to 786,086.
House Sales to Foreigners
Sales to foreigners totaled 1,867 in September 2025 (–7.7% y/y), with a share of 1.2% of all sales. The top provinces were İstanbul (744), Antalya (557), and Mersin (124).
In January–September, sales to foreigners decreased by 12.6% to 14,944. By nationality, most purchases were made by citizens of the Russian Federation (267), Iran (202), and Iraq (146).
